Some cookies just feel like a memory.
These are those cookies.
Soft, buttery, chewy, and kissed with sugar — these sugar cookies remind me of the ones my grandma used to make just for us kids. No rolling pins, no cutters, no stress. Just a warm oven and a recipe so simple it became tradition.
Whether you’re baking with your little ones, prepping holiday tins, or craving a nostalgic treat, this no-chill sugar cookie recipe is your golden ticket to the coziest kind of joy. 🥛✨
In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup softened butter and 1½ cups sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
Mix in 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 3 tbsp milk until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together:
2¾ cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda, and ½ tsp baking powder.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined — don’t overmix.
Use a cookie scoop to portion dough into 1-tbsp balls.
Roll each ball in ¼ cup sugar to coat.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place cookie dough balls 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underbaked.
Let cookies cool on the tray for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Enjoy warm with a glass of milk — or cool completely before storing.
Soft and chewy sugar cookies with sparkly sugar tops, no chilling required! Perfect for holidays, parties, or an everyday sweet fix.
